One of the most ironic aspects of fishing is the fact that even though your trying to catch fish out of water, it’s incredibly important that the angler themselves must keep hydrated.
If you're fishing out of a boat this is simple. Just put a cooler full of water and other beverages on the boat, and you're good to go. The problem comes in with all of us anglers who fish while wading or simply from the bank. Carrying water or any liquid to stay hydrated is a bit more difficult for those of us who don't fish from boats.
For me, the scenario used to go something like this: I would stuff my fishing vest with as many cool bottles of water as I could, knowing that I would be on the river for four or five hours. This method worked, but made fishing uncomfortable. Having water bottles stuffed throughout my fishing vest made finding things difficult as well. Then a friend of mine introduced me to the solution to my problem.
My friend used a hydration pack to carry his water while fishing. I had never heard of such a thing, but after seeing it in action, I was impressed. He wore his hydration pack under his fishing vest so he didn't have to worry about carrying water bottles. If he wanted a drink, he simple put the nozzle in his mouth like a straw, and took a drink. It was ingenious! This was the solution that I had been searching for fro years.
If you've never looked into a hydration pack for staying hydrated while fishing, I would suggest that you have a look. They are actually quite inexpensive and the convenience they provide is unmatched. As soon as you try a hydration pack to stay hydrated while fishing (or any other outdoor activity) you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.
