I had a great weekend bass fishing. I fished 4 different lakes and caught fish everywhere I went. The largest was 21 1/2" and many, many 18 and 19'ers. I'm looking forward to even better fall fishing.

Are you still getting them deep or are you up in the shallows now?

Last week, those fish were all on deep spot that I have fished all summer.

This weekend, the deep bite was much slower. I did manage to get some deeper fish, but not the size or quantity.

The water temp was 67-68 on both the lakes I fished. A 7 degree drop from last weekend.

I moved to the shallows and got some nice fish. The best fish came on a Victory Buzzbait and a frog, both worked fast through the pads.

Got out this morning for a couple hours. The plan was to go to one of my best deep rock spots and catch as many as I could.(All summer and every summer this one spot holds a big school of nice bass) I launched and went right to the spot. I worked around it a few times with a variety of lures: cranks, jigs, jigworm, drop shot, ect. I spent an hour out there without a single bite. So to the pads I went.

The pads were on fire! Lots of action. Many catches and many blow ups. The fish seemed to be "one hit wonders" today. If they didn't hook ups on the initial blow up they would not hit again(not even changing lures worked). I didn't land a really big fish today but I did see a couple nice ones blow up.

Again, the Victory Buzzbait got the most and the biggest fish to commit. Unlike last week, I had to work the buzzbait as slow as I could to get a strike. I switched to a small 3/8 oz bait so it would stay on top better at a slow retrieve. I would "steer" my bait around the pad edges and through the pads. It is amazing how nice this bait slides over and through the pads.
