I fished a small tourney on tues night and I'm happy to say I came away with a win. 5 fish that went 14.5 lbs. It was a pretty small tourney, but against some very good fisherman. I still won some money and got to have a great day fishing. The main thing is that I came back with a win after blanking in the first one of these series so now I got some respect back. its amazing what doing some pre-fishing does when you know your going to fish one.

Congrat's on the win. What was your secret to success? What type and brand of lures put money in the bank for you?

my lure that won it for me was definately a karu Lures vibrashock. I started off close to the main river channel where I found good numbers of large fish holding. The dropping water really screwed that up and almost made it unfishable. I did however manage 2 small keepers and an 8lb pike on a black cherry vibrashock. I chose the black cherry because of the dingy water. After about 1.5 hrs with nothing else I made a run to small backwater lake with a dredged canal about 5-6ft deep in the middle with everything else being a shallow pad field. I switched to a more natural colored vibrashock and burned it along the weededge while my buddy took a crigger craw vibrashock and hopped it off the bottom. We both caught about 8 fish in that spot and had a limit half way through the 4 hour tourney and were culling the rest of the night.
